Deep Iron

Is anyone getting a 39 on deep rusty iron? I been getting a few of these going almost 12 inches down. Is this a normal thing for a 39?

All the time for me. 39 deep usually rusted irrigation in my parks.

So I would think 39-40 are no good as digging numbers.

Also, buried sprinkler heads usually come in at a 39 for me. I have been convinced it's a silver target but when I dig, it's a buried long forgotten sprinkler head!! Who would have thought a '39'!!!!

Had a 39 on rusty square nail tonight, too. Can't chance losing possible silver so I had to dig it since lowering the coil in PP mode it did not scream out large metal or crushed can.

What tone did you get?

Me ?..... If so, I hunt mostly in relic mode, so the square nail tone can mimic older silver coins (i.e. to me that would Barber series dimes or older from personal experience) . In addition,the graphic id bar on the lower part of the control panel may point to the "i' in silver .....just more info to help me to determine to dig or not to....HH....

But i have been experiencing deep 39 signals that disapear as well ao im thinking iron!!
