Delta question

I have the Delta machine with a DD coil and I love using it. One thing I am finding is that I cannot get signals beyond six inches. I know there are coins at this depth in this location because I have dug them with my X-terra. Can anyone help me figure out what deep signals sound like on the Delta.
Thanks in advance.

All targets sounded pretty much the same on mine, shallow or deep, although the signal response area seemed a little smaller on deep targets. The target ID. VDI numbers would read lower at depth.

Have you tried using A1 mode?

Good Luck

Several things may be coming into play here. Settings first......make sure your volume control is maxed out and if too loud, adjust with the volume controls on your headphones. If you're running headphones without volume controls, I'd recommend you get some in order to get the most out of your detector's available performance. Next, try to run at least 10 on sensitivity. Usually 12 will chatter, 11 is on the edge and 10 will be stable, all assuming you are not dealing with EXTREME sources of interference. Last but not least, NEVER assume one detector can hear a target while another can't unless you've taken the time to check the same target with both detectors, one immediately after the other (with only one detector actually "on" at once) and assuring both are running at optimal settings for the conditions. Target responses can change significantly by the minute, let alone day to day or longer. I've checked the Delta I have against most of the XT's and when done properly in real time, I did not see what you apparently are so it's your settings, your phones, your assumptions, your particular Delta not being up to spec, or a combination of some or all.

The saturated audio Delta will hold its own against most other 'preset' GB similar models and many foreigners, like the XT's.

Monte, I consider it an honor to help save any wear and tear possible on your overtaxed hunt and peck digits! How you take the time and have the patience to type some of your "info complete" responses without having the typing skills of an executive secretary is impressive, to say the least.

Brad, the truth of the matter is Monte dictates, and his dog does the typing:).......sorry Monte......couldn't resist the temptation:)

I will say that, while I am old, aging quickly and falling apart, one skillful trait I wish I would have learned long ago was typing. You know that art that is now called 'keyboarding.'

On the other hand, due to age and maybe my memory is slipping, the slower-paced two-finger approach might give me ample time to do some pondering and organize my thoughts? If my fingers were more talented as a whole and working overtime, my noggin couldn't keep up!

She can tell time ... making sure I am awake between 4:30 and 5 am to feed her.

She can sort through my CD's ... when she checks in to say 'Hi' and scatters some around on the floor.

She's considerate of my age and the chilly weather ... laying on my feet while I sit typing.

She knows her name and understands more clear-spoken English ... than most of the unwelcome and usually illegal people in our area ... I can place a tempting morsel by her and she will sit and stare as I run through a list of names, until I say 'Katie', at which time she then eats her treat.

She likes to hunt with me ... having a keen nose and eyesight for rabbits and upland game birds.

She alerts me to anyone approaches ... an unknown/unrecognized stranger when I am detecting with my headphones on.

She can sing ... and it's all in her 'perfect-pitch' key.

She talks too much ... at times if hungry, ignored, or during a good football game (when I have snacks).

Type? Nope, she hasn't mastered that skill yet.

Besides, she is an Alpha Female and if anyone around here did the 'Dictating,' it would be Katie! Just ask her.
