depth and number stability

Hi everyone, I have a question on depth and stability of target numbers. What is the average depth you get with the e-trac before your target id. numbers start getting erratic? I guess what I'm asking is what maximum depth is your machine still giving good solid sound and numbers consistently? One reason I'm asking is I have a 9 inch coin buried in my coin garden that's about 3yrs. old and with the 10x12 coil on I could hardly pick it up at all. I had to crank my sensitivity up toward manual 30 to get it to sound off at all? I run basically the same settings and pattern as Goes4ever does. Thanks and HH.
 
It's going to depend on your ground mineralization, local EMI, solar EMI, ground moisture, and probably a dozen other factors.
 
I agree with what was said above, in my area, signals are solid to about 8 inches, after than numbers start to bounce around...coins in my coin garden are at 7.5 inches and my 6x8 sef coil can get them easy with sens of 19

Yep! its different in EVERY situation.

Thanks guys, I was talking about what everybody gets in their own area on average. With your own mineralization what is your own experience on how deep and solid do you get.
 
OK, well then, for my little slice of the world, I have gotten clean hits as deep as 10 inches on a wheat penny.

I have gotten Tweeks at over a Foot and recovered Coins (usually Silver or Wheat's or Indian's and then there is the NAIL)

What I noticed the other day as I was in two different Parks using TTF and the numbers for the coins were very different in each Park

At one Park I was digging Old Silver at 6-40 and 8-41 and the other Park (about 30 minutes apart) the numbers were more traditional 12-46/48 for Silver

I know, Mineralization but still it is a Park in the same area but very different readings
 
If it's a shallow target and the Co numbers are low, or bouncy, I just skip it because it's probably trash. If it's deeper than 4" then I dig'em all. Soon as they get down a little the numbers can jump all over the place depending on the soil and location of nearby trash. I've pulled Barber dimes that had horrible Fe-Co values, but even during a bounce, if I notice the Co numbers hit once in a decent range, then I dig that target. I'm trying to be more patient and dig everything that's repeatable, and deeper than 3".
