Depth Readings

Dalpal

Member
I have been using my G-2 with the stock coil . I have noticed that my target depth is almost always much deeper than the screen reading. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have the gb and g2 and targets are always deeper than it says even coin sized targets. 3 inches usually equates to the depth of my leshea.

Thanks Digit,

Hope we get more responses so we can tell if this a problem with a few or most GB/G2's.

I think mine is pretty accurate. It's off sometimes on small targets that are shallow and sound deep and big targets that sound shallow and are deep.

I have found this to be true. I thought maybe sometimes my pin-pointing may not be right over the target. One thing is for sure when these machines goes off (GB/G-2) there is a target down there.

I hit a clad dime at 7" today TID was on and the depth was right

hardly ever use the pin point button sound seems to be a pretty good indicator of depth and sizing the target with the coil.

I have been finding that deeper coin size targets 5" + are close to the depth readings indicated. My G-2 hits very hard (loud) on most shallow targets and will indicate 0" when pinpointing. I have used detectors from quite a few manufacturers and find this most noticable on the G-2. I am not unhappy with the machine in that I have been getting some good finds in high iron areas that have been gone over with many other machines.

Thanks for the replys,

Dalpal
