Went hunting about 3 weeks ago with my buddy Bill S. He was swinging his E-trac finding some deep targets for my two machines to check. He was getting good high tones with good co numbers and both my machines either wouldn't beep or indicated spotty iron. I even cranked both machines all the way and opened them up. Still nothing. I believe he was running about 22 + 3 auto. Then he went to digging. I saw the hole get deeper and deeper. He got past 8 inches on the first target and I figured it had to be a can that deep. Then he went an honest 10 inches and out popped a Barber dime! He pulled this crap within the first 10 minutes of our hunt and then I knew I was outgunned to say the least. He had me check two or three more targets with the same results. Only for him to dig deep Wheaties. Then later he let me swing this beast of a machine. I took right to the gal. She felt good in my hands. All those smooth curves and that sweet song she sang. Well I knew I had to have her. I went on a search and finally found her sister and the rest is history. Me a Bill took out the girls on a double date yesterday and had a blast. Bill broke me in pretty good by letting me hear some faint but good targets plus a little tweaking of my settings and I was off on my own. Of course I wore out the E-trac emulator I downloaded so I knew my way around the controls pretty good. I really can't believe just how easy it is to set the machine up. I can easily get through the menus edit, save etc with ease. For those thinking it's complicated or hard to use I would disagree. Bill took me to one of his hunting spots and within 50 feet from my car I get a deep hit at (if I can remember right) bounced up between 46 to 49 co (may have hit 50?) and had some 1's in the fe bounce all the way to maybe the 20's? Depth meter was almost pegged. I told Bill I felt I had a goody? He checked it and said I was right. So I went to digging. 4 inches then 6 inches then 8 inches came. I know because if the length of my Raptor digger. Then the Sunray said I was real close. So I stuck the Raptor in and flipped up the dirt and up flew the SLQ!! This coin was around 9 honest inches deep! Bill was happy for me and heck I was pretty happy myself. This was my first silver with the E-trac and I'm positive it's just the beginning. I went on to hit a 1903 V nickel as well. Bill did great as usual. It was a great day. I really thank Bill for my jump start on the E-trac. I have had countless machines over the past 26 years of hunting. But this machine is a special breed that I will tame in short time. I rarely post pictures or even share my stories but I couldn't help myself this time.
