My Deus has a click after each sweep over a crown cap (11" coil). "beep-clickity....beep-clickety. Can always tell a crown, but I double check it anyhow.

Ism said:Smkunder, yes, there is no click on a good target or deep rusted crown caps. I haven't heard other Deus users comment on the sound so I'm not sure if it is indicative to my unit.
I haven't checked my 9" coil for the "tell" so I'm not sure if it's the coil or the whole package. I am afraid I will lose it upon a software upgrade (currently using v3.2).

It seems to be more pronounced in higher frequencies like 8 and 12KHz, but I can't remember hearing it in 18KHz.
My settings are different for 18KHz jewelry hunting. I can still tell a crown, but I dig them anyway cause some tiny jewelry gives a similar "abrupt" signal.
