for sure read Andy's book. use basic 1 for a while. get used to it before making changes. just because it's so small and light doesn't mean it isn't a monster machine because it is. Don't be reluctant to tone it down if you need to because it can be too powerful for most detecting. drop sens if you must... drop tx gain... use reactivity wisely and you will find incredible stuff.

Take time and get use to the programs on your Deus, then after a while set up the Hot and The Sifter programs, Gary's video will show you how, i use these 90 % of the time. Just don't get over whelmed by all the different things you can do with the Deus and as time go on you will love this detector.
Also there is so much help on this forum that you can ask anything and help will be there for you..
