Deus Size Comparison With E-Trac & Excalibur & Large Coil

Here are some pics as I have been asked for size comparison of the Deus.

I want to thank Larry for lending me the large coil for the Deus and I hope to be able to test it next week when I am down in Florida. I will be doing a lot of testing in the coming weeks but I have to say already, the Deus passed every test yesterday where I tried to mask a good target with junk. I could literally see right through the trash. I even dumped a handful of rusty nails on top of a merc and the Deus rang out loud and clear. The recovery speed is simply astonishing. I will not be selling this machine anytime soon, that I am sure of.

I have collapsed the E-Trac as far as I could (without removing the coil) and collapsed the Deus as much as I could for the picture. The portability factor of the Deus is clear.

I received the large coil from Larry today, and my first impression is, its not nearly as badly balanced as I expected. It feels to be a great size, balances well and is not as heavy as I expected, although it is certainly heavier than the stock coil. I will be testing this coil on real targets vs. the stock coil and will hopefully have a review in the coming weeks.

I hope the pics give you a better understanding of what a little mosquito this detector actually is and if anyone has any further requests, feel free to contact me anytime.

HH -Marc

Hi Marc - I'm excited about your first report on the larger coil and boy does it look SWEET. Looking forward to your field tests with it. My Deus just got delivered, but I'm going to have to wait to play with it, as the wife wants to go out for dinner. Feel like taking it with me to the restaurant, but that would not go over well with the wife. The first thing I'm going to do is hold my E-Trac in one hand and the Deus in the other to get a feel for how much lighter the Deus is. Going to post my first impressions of it in the next couple of days after I get a chance to run it through it's paces.

The side view of the Deus looks like the Enterprise on Star Trek....lol

That's just another plus of the Deus. I'm one of the original Trekkie's from the 60's and it's just plain cool. Captain Picard will have one in his "Ready Room" show case (where he has the models of all the previous Enterprises) in the next movie. Just hope he does not smash it to pieces like he did in the movie where they were battling the Borg.

Thanks for the pics. Does it appear that the Deus could be folded up into a larger backpack? And can you slide it completely apart (the handle section) to allow for that? I ask because I have no car and lugging around my E-Trac (or any detector really) is a bit tough in them big cases on a bike and it attracts a bit of attention on trains.

Thx,
EMS

The large coil is awesome. Makes the small coil look......small......

The Whole Folded up Deus will fit in a large backpack, as i carry it with me that way. If you want to make it even smaller, take the lower stem off.

The factory detector bag for the Deus IS a backpack....... and highly recommended. Lots of storage pockets too.
