Deus strikes

Well-known member
Found this what appears to be large cent.

Half I found a few weeks ago is in pic for scale.

And boys and girls, I've had a many a coils over this coin-- won't say which brand detector though...

Deus made the find see daylight though.

Full tones Deus fast 94 sens
8.5" down.

I have a few detectors and some run better then others. But I have been eyeing the Deus . Nice save by the Deus. Maybe this spring I will have a Deus to run . GS

Worthy investment GS.

Deeper too than some think.

Audio is very telling using full tones.

Eats up nail ridden sites, and on cleaner ground will chew up real estate in a big way.

Easy on the shoulder and arm.

For the oldest of sites--- it's in its own world or sorts.
And make no mistake both the 11" and 9" coils will hunt.

Well I won't be using it now that the cold weather and winter has set in. But will purchase Andy's Deus handbook and read it a few times. By then I should know a think or two about running it. Hopefully. Plus I know if I have a question , you guys are always willing to help out a newbee to the machine. GS

Great job with the large cent and also that half! You are truly getting your Deus to speak. Congratulations.:clapping:

I have not tried full tones yet. Have had my Deus for almost a full year and have made many amazing finds but typically run in a two tone mode.
I usually don't hunt parks or yards primarily do research along with a retired buddy looking for old picnic grounds as well as camp grounds. The two tone system seems to work well in relatively trash free environments. Anything reading high tone I dig. Have been running a 12khz program but have normalization turned on so if I switch from 12khz to 18khz the VDI numbers remain the same. Since there is little trash this tends to work well for me.
Have found several old coins a depths greater than 9-10 inches using the 9" coil. Last hunt I found a half dime at greater than 10", that really impressed me.

I have used the Deus twice in school lots but turned normalization off so I could weed out pop tops with a Freq. shift identical program.

p.s. Do you think the full tones would be of any benefit in the areas I hunt?

Congratulations again.

i have my ups and downs with full tones. there are just too many tones to learn if you are looking for everything. in trashy parks its like listening to Morse Code so i usually only listen for the high tones and even then i get tone overload after a while and can't distinguish anything. then i have a program set up for parks with 5 "bins" like i had with the CTX3030 and set tones accordingly. What i feel is the downside to the park program is that the area between "bins" you hear a double tone as it sounds off the tone of both bins which isn't a clean tone. So....... ha ha .... now that i've made this as clear as mud.... good luck...
so now i am thinking of trying 3 tones: one for the zero to whatever i have discrimination set at, one from there to 80 and one from 80 up. turn the iron volume down so basically it would be a two tone machine. but then you are looking at VID's all the time to see what's under the coil. hmmm...
aren't you glad that you asked? lol

Full tones,

Might not be the best choice for site loaded with modern trash.

But older sites free of modern trash-- full tones the best

In nail sites -- full tones better

Remember in full tones 0 disc= better depth and better separation and unmasking.

Now a person will dig a little more iron say in a site loaded, with nails---- but you also may indeed find so,etching you may indeed miss using 2 or 3 tones with disc employed.

Big Copper disk readable or not is always fun to dig.

I only use the full tones now for a couple of years. Once I switched to it I never looked back. The onslaught of sounds can be over welding at first but when it finally clicks you will never go back. I don't even carry the remote with me anymore. Turn it on , select my full tones program and on to the hint. Through the remote in the truck.

I was just having a little fun with you.
You do make a good point though.

The hobby sure can be painted badly by just a select few folks

Btw
I do read and enjoy your posts.

All good. I didn't think otherwise

2016 will be the year of the Deus. Mark my words, the Deus will take another step ahead of other machines with the new software and coils. I believe it may truly become the first detector that is all you will need for all hunting situations and keep the weight where it is now. The biggest company o take a hit may be minelab in my opinion

Andy S. Said to me in an email yesterday that what he saw from Alain in December will be a game changer basically and was more than he was expecting. He said XP had truly done something with the new coils that other companies had tried to do but failed and that the Deus will rule in areas that up til now other machines had stood out and keep the weight down.
