did a favor for a friend this morning, and was rewarded with 10 K ring

At a neighbor's Bar-B -Que yesterday afternoon, my friend mentioned that her teen daughter had lost a precious ring 2 weeks ago ...at a beach where I frequently detect .

She politely asked that I try to find the ring the next time out there.

I invited her two children ( "teen " and "tweener" ) to go detecting with me this morning to the beach; they would show me where the ring was lost ; and the three of us would search for it. I allowed the kids the use of my Garrett 1350.

The teen-ager delineated an 8 ft. square area where her lounge chair had been placed when the ring was lost; I then added an additional 30 feet to the area and off we went in search of the ring. After about 15 minutes, the kids decided that it was cooler to go swimming in the ocean rather than continue detecting in the approaching 90* weather...sooooooooo there I was, keeping an eye on them in the ocean while trying to concentrate on the ring search.

After about 1 1/2 hours, I recovered the ring; and then about 1/2 hour later, I got a nice solid sound , and out popped a nice 10 K class ring .. from a High School in Puerto Rico.

Here's pics ..
thanks for looking
