Did some huntin' with LI Tom today...

... he's one of the guys I met on Tnet.

LI Tom, Ricardo NYC and I are all going for a magic number of 50 silver for the year. Ricardo pulled it off the other day, I was at 43 and Tom has been stuck on 48 or 49 for the last month. If wheaties were silver, he would have had a pretty good day :) He managed to pull 8 or so from amidst the trash in a picnic area of a local state park. I started off with the stock 10.5" but decided to change to the 8.5" after a while. Only had a couple of clad and 2 or 3 wheats until I worked around an old tree. Got a good signal peeking through the trash and dug down only about 2 or 3" and found a '48 Washington of all things (silver #44). We've both picked up silver there in the past but I didn't think there were any quarters left. That's only the 2nd one I've ever found there (also around an old tree but deep and under roots). This is the same area where I found my first LC, just under the surface :) This washington looks like it must have been sitting close to the surface for a while too...

That is a fine number of silvers! :)

Nice find Joe. I figured it would be too cold up there to go digging. Our weather here is unbeliavable, mid 70's the last two days but it will get bone chilling cold (for southerners) this weekend with highs only in the 40's and the possibility of snow showers Sunday morning.

High 30's / low 40's :) That's a sweater, light jacket and light gloves kinda day :) They're looking at snow today and a Nor'Easter moving in on Saturday night. I think the party is over.

can tell by his tan lines

Congrats Joe on silver #44 and the wheaties too. Too much snow up here to detect and the lake is frozen.
Would go find a toboggan hill but seems I never see anyone sledding or sliding down hills around here...too many hills in people's own back yards for the township to bother putting up a sledding hill. Actually, there isn't much of anything they do for the kids up here. Roller rink is open only 1 day a week in the winter and closed the rest of the year. They finally created an indoor skateboarding place but not many kids skateboard. Guess that explains why kids are experimenting with sex at an early age...nothing better to do I guess they are thinking.

Oh well, congrats Joe.
