Dig Wars

A few nights ago we stumbled across the show Dig Wars on the Travel Channel. Finally a detecting show that people aren't diving in the mud or yelling "Boom Baby".

For those of you that haven't caught it yet they follow 4 pairs of detecting partners in sort of a competition hunt at different locations. The two episodes that I've seen so far it appears as through they are mainly focused on relic hunting. One guy is using an Xterra and seems to be doing well finding Spanish silver.

There are a few funny things that I noticed in the first episode called "Digging Fort St Phillip". About 3 minutes into the show you'll see the wife of the husband and wife team with her large Predator style shovel stuck in the ground and she's ground balancing about 6-8" next to it. They also show a guy with something that looks like a pistol probe and you hear the sound of a Garret Pro Pointer.

All in all this is a much better show than the other two recent offings over the last year or so. The next time it will be on from what I can see is 6/22 at 11:00pm est on the Travel Channel. Here is a link to some of the pictures and short video clips from the show.

I personaly like the " Diggers " show better but the " Digger Wars " isn't all that bad. Then the guys on the " Diggers " show are from my home town and in my book great guys for making a living doing their hobby.

Will we ever see a episode where nothing but trash is found? I don't think so.
agree, because that is one of the sure things of our hobby! :)

I just wanted to bump this post to the top of the forum again. I had moved it earlier in the week, when I didn't think it had much to do with the X-TERRA forum. It was brought to my attention earlier today that a post along the same topic was made on this forum, but it was allowed to stay. If it had it been up to me I would have moved them both. But as some of you realize, I just volunteer my time here. I don't make the rules. It was not my intent to offend anyone by moving this one and leaving the other. HH Randy

I personally don't care for most "reality" shows, and even if this one is different, I would rather be out digging than watching someone else. JMHO.

And I don't think that anyone should be upset with Randy for anything. I don't think that I could put a price on his contributions, and there's certainly nothing that could be posted (or removed) that could change my opinion of him.

ditto...

I agree! The Dig Wars cast is cool, but there is something about the passion of Tim and George, (Diggers) that is very easy to connect with for me.
