Digging Low Tones

Sugar

Watch NebTrac's video here and you will get a feel for why you should open up your pattern to include all the way down into the 20's ferrous on the etrac.

Go to the 4:00 minute mark in the video and watch and listen to this dig. It is a wheat penny coming in at 20-43 / 22-43. If you only have the 12 line open you would miss this target and get a null when you move the coil over it. This could very easily been a silver dime as I have dug mercs that come up just like this.

Hope this helps a little. Sometimes it is easier to see and here the machine then it is for me to explain.

just to recap i run a wide open screen and as i am in ferrous two tone i dig all high tones i do have a great amount of great finds and as i am tone deaf i just have to dig one tone this week i have dug twenty coins mostly george 111 a silver sixpence a couple of roman coins three nice buckles a spear which i have to get examined i am surprised with the people running in conductive tones how you can hunt by tones as i think you have to dig right across the board making the etrac much more complicated for a newbie if i am still not getting it you need to explain slowly as i am a woman but can i tell you that the etrac has opened up a new world to me as i here the sweet noises so easily and when i dig there is my target and i now i have so much confidence in the etracs capability from a detectorist who wants to get the best out of my detector so is willing to listen to all you guys that actually know what you are talking about ?????????????????????????????????????????????

I am not sure I can help you. First you say you have never found silver then you say to found silver this week. I believe you are across the big pond from me and your hunting style and targets are not like mine. What I am saying is in reference to hunting with the Etrac in the USA. Sorry I could not be of more help to you but I just dont know anything about detecting outside the U.S.
