Dime trifecta with first seated liberty.

Hey fellow Safarians...Finally found my 1st seated liberty dime-1877, while hunting the below-boardwalk fill-dirt landslide, in my town from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. In addition, got a no date mercury and a '64 rosey. Stats:coin/jewelry,auto sensitivity, high density. Tid was bouncing between 38-39 on the dimes. Also had about a dozen wheaties from 1920-1957. Assortment of relics include skeleton key,a field and track or hoops trophy, several regular keys, two medals, both with Fleur DI Ly's in the coat of arms (interesting),antique yale lock,silver-plated spoons, fork, fishing lead, washers, and a few "whatzits', too. No clad coins posted ,and there were over 80 of 'em (two hunts over this weekend). Eye-balled a Thomas Mullholland bottle from Freehold NJ,and a clear perfume bottle making this a great relic weekend. Thanks for viewing.

Wow Ken that is AWESOME!!! What a great mix of finds. That must have been a blast of a weekend! The seated is sweet, haven't gotten one of those yet. Love the lock and bottles too!
Keep at it,
Bunker

Awesome finds! 'Sandy' really stirred up lot's of 'keepers' and I'm positive there are lot's more treasures out there for the finding!! keep swinging :detecting:and good luck!

Coinscratcher- I appreciate it. You may want to start readiing throught this entire forum so as to familiarize yourself with this exceptional detector along with checking out: http://www.minelabowners.com/forum/ & http://www.mlotv.com/..GL

Ken, I thought I had congratulated you on these finds but I had not so.....congratulations!!!! You have some awesome items there! I'm more of a beach hunter than a relic hunter but I do love old stuff and antiques in general!
I was an antique dealer in England running 4 antique stores in the early 70's so I do have an appreciation for antiques and collectibles. Sometimes I wished that I had lived in those Eastern States, I definately would be detecting for those Civil War targets and early American items!! G.L. & H.H.

Thank You, GS. It was a really fun and memorable hunt. Were you into metal detecting as an antiques dealer years ago ? It's nice that you'll be able to get home and hunt those historic fields with your brother, soon. Maybe, you'll discover the next great horde, I'm pulling for you.
