Dimes and Quarters

Just wanted to say even tho I haven't found any silver yet, my Etrac is a quarter and dime magnet. Today I found 3 quarters(clad) and 4 dimes(clad) in about an 1 1/2 hrs, yesterday I found 16 quarters and 15 dimes(all clads)in 4 hrs . It seems no matter where you go you can find quarters and dimes with this machine very easily. I know their not big finds of gold and silver, but they are finds! So what I'm saying is even tho a person might not get to hunt the good areas look at what you can do at the local parks, ball fields and picnic grounds. I'm done I'll get off my soapbox now. :)

Love to see and hear that 12-46! I was cherry picking quarters a couple of weeks ago because I was running out of time. Picked up 16 of them in about a 45 mins. It was on a hill that kids like to roll down. Lots of dime an penny signals left behind. Will go back and clean out the rest soon.
Thanks for posting,
Bunker

I had one of those days last Saturday. Found 40 coins, but only one worth keeping, a 1958 wheatie. The rest were 26 memorial cents, nine clad dimes and 4 clad quarters. Not real exciting, but helps pay for the gas. That was the 14th wheatie in that area, but still not a single silver.

To add to this post, I found 25 pcs. of change today, including a 1946 Wheatie!!! Yippi, the hunt lasted about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. I probably didn't cover a 20' by 50' area. It produced 1 wheatie, 1 canadian cent(modern), 8 memorial cents, 2 Jeff nickels, 7 clad dimes and 6 clad quarters. Yesterday(Aug.23) was even better, I hunted a school and found 9 memorials, 1 jefferson nickel, 7 clad dimes,7 clad quarters, 1 key and.....:detecting: a silver(925) earing with 10 looks to be diamonds or just cheap shiny stones in it !!! I plan to have this checked out to see if they are real or not . But it says on the earing 925.... I might not be finding much old stuff but I'm sure having fun:cheers: Happy Detecting!!!

Your time will come! Some of and most of my best finds have been in normal type places and not far from home. Theres lots of stuff out there....you just got to find it. It took me 6 months or more to get the etrac understood or to get reasonably good with it ...and Im still learning....as with any detector....experience is all!... and a bit of luck helps!

Go low and slow....because of the mellow tones of gold....you can miss them if you go too fast or if close to another object.

This is most of my finds in 2 years. About 11,000 coins now. I think Im due for another display case:geek:

I agree with JB, keep it slow and pay attention to every signal. Treat every signal the same with same being 100% of attention. Sounds goofy but those iffy, distorted signals I passed earlier in my E-trac days are turning out to be awesome finds.
Your finding stuff and thats all that matters and your learning your awesome machine. Don't be afraid too dig those crap numbers as you will be amazed at what you uncover or learn.
