Discrimination vs Mode

Acornhead

Member
What is the difference.I know how to manually enter a discrimination pattern, but when I try to save it as a mode, I can't. What is the difference between a pattern and a mode? Should I just hunt using a pattern and forget about figuring the mode? Des in Buffalo

When saving a pattern, the E-Trac saves the discrimination.
When saving a mode, the E-Trac saves the settings. i.e. volume, volume gain, conduct/ferrous, number of tones etc...

All of the modes I've saved have the same discrimination, but the settings (volume, volume gain, conduct/ferrous, number of tones) are different.

Setup modes for different types of hunting, like TTF, maybe FAST On for trashy areas and DEEP ON for normal hunitng.
Then save discrim pattterns .

Then you can mix and match you "modes" with your "patterns". But you want to save a few different modes so you don't have to change settings, etc. more often.
