Does anyone know if there is a circuit board inside sov. compatable coils?

I have a Detech Penetrator 14" coil and was told that it didn't have an internal circuit board but performance doesn't seem to suffer from the lack of.

In a word..YES. Any aftermarket coil would have to use a similar pre-amp inside their coils or they will not perform. I have pulled apart an S-12 and Wot, both have the circuit board inside along with all factory coils. I also build my own coils and have tried one without the pre-amp. It does work, well it barely works, if you can call hitting a quarter at maybe 1-2 inches max. Hope that clears it up for you.

I was searchin around that geotech website , there is a LOT of info there about building your own search coils ... I just may try to make a few for my F5 . they don't seem to be that terribly complicated . thanks for posting that link
