...you finally find that next large copper you have been searching for, only to have it so badly corroded that you can't ID it?

Like my friend said... bittersweet find.

yes,
Its been a tough year for coppers for me only 6 so far and the one I got last night is pretty bad but I can get 1818 out of it its a crusty.

Next large copper?--I'd just like to fine my FIRST large copper (corroded or no)! ---You guys back east have "got it made" (in that regard anyway)!----We don't fine 'em out here where I'm at. --------Del

The crusty old one I found yesterday is probably another KGII by the diameter and thickness, but I could be wrong. (I am no expert with these things.) I still haven't given it a peroxide bath. However, I have a feeling it's not giong to make a difference.... :rage:

Amazingly, in the same hole as the copper was a rather large chunk of rusty iron. In fact the whole area was littered with iron. I have to say, my new E-Trac is amazing at target seperation. :minelab:

To all those who haven't found their first, keep trying and never give up! It will happen eventually. Persistance, research and location are key.
