Double down pennies, some results

Well, there was a constant line of people cashing in their pennies. Where Ii was .I had 6.6 lbs that brought in $25.33. My brother scored $105 for his total. But there were many with heavier loads. I'm not really up on it but I hear that gold and silver have really jumped recently. Might be worth looking into. Is it true? I heard while in line that 2025 is the last year for the penny to be minted? That means that the lowly penny will slowly become rare And those who saved all the true copper pennies , may have something there some day. Trouble is everything has a due date, if you know what I mean. Well for now the Great Penny Rush is over. Maybe it will pop up in other parts of the country.

Local News this morning Giant Eagle stores took in 100 Million pennies. Paid out double in value with gift cards.. For many that's Thanksgiving meal.
Smart business move, Thats a million dollars that will be spent in their stores. As far as doubling the value, their mark up is so high they could have tripled it and still made a fortune.

I've got a 5 gallon water jug full of pennies, not sure how many are in but it's been catching pennies for the last 32 years.
It's so heavy I can't lift it, probably we'll over 100 pounds.
I'll wait until the price jumps to 5 cents for every penny, can't see it going backwards.
