Scored 4 nice silvers today 2 x ram shillings and 2 x sixpence usig my long settings but this time I opened my pattern right up to see if it made a difference. The area I am going over has been hunted to death but today I found these silvers and about 30 other coins that consisted mostly of our old 1 & 2 cent pieces. We call them Brown Buggers because they are everywhere and sound just like a silver. Interesting thing today was that the signals were really broken and the ID was all over the place even with some readings around 20:42. Odd!

The Merc is only there for comparison.

Nice finds! What % of silver are Australian silver coins?

pre 1945 are 92.5% & 1946 onwards are 50%

Thanks for the info. You have very attractive coins in Australia. US coins used to be attractive until they started putting profiles of dead presidents on them. Roosevelt dimes and Washington quarters are just ugly (unless they are pre-1965; then the silver makes them tolerable. LOL)
