Dug 117 Coins And Some Jewelry Yesterday

I went to a local high school that was built in 1928 yesterday. I planed on hunting for a few hours but I started getting good hits every two or three feet - so I stayed all day.
It was real hot and humid and the dry ground made for some tough digging. After 8 hrs. I ended up with (117) coins and (4) pieces of jewelry. Only one old nice coin - a 1935 Quarter.
I was thinking there could be a some gold jewelry on this school - maybe a lost class ring - so I also dug around twenty - pop tops. A long day - but a lot of fun !

Thats a lot of diggin!! Congrats on the silver

All that hard work paid off. Congrats on the silver and rings.

Looks like your white balance is not set right on your camera? If it is set right, I apologize and will mind my own camera business.

Congratulations on the finds! Thanks for the pictures. That's a long days hunt....but highly addicting too!

That was a lot of hard work but it paid off. That's some nice jewelry and a nice silver quarter too and clad to help pay for gas. How did you get that fly to sit still for the picture? HH

Good going But what does that very dry lawn look like ?

I know a lot of areas all over the US dry up during the summer and digging gets harder.
We have a lot of clay here in Ohio - around the turn of the century over 95% of all of the chinaware made in the US was made right in our area.
Because of the high clay content most of the rain we get runs off - rather than soaking in - even on a lot of the grass areas.
With no real heavy rain here in over a month now - makes for some tough digging !
