Dug a little lead today

2 Much Trash

Went to a new permission today for a couple hours. The property is on a fairly good size creek. In February 1864 a small force of Confederates were entrenched here to guard the bridge crossing. When the Union troops, consisting of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Delaware infantry all lead by 3 squadrons of Ohio calvary reached the bridge a battle began. It only lasted a few hours before the Rebs were routed. We were hunting the confederate side today. The Ohio Calvary were the first to engage the Confederates which probably explains the shot pistol bullets. We have permission to hunt the Union side of the creek also. Can’t wait. I reckon there Should be some used Confederate lead over yonder. :detecting:

Good story and a good hunt. You got some good finds and a nap sack brass piece too. Williams cleaner ... You might find some Gardners or Ringtails on the other side.

Good luck. CCH

Great story and saves on the CW lead. Best of luck to you when you are able to hunt the other side of the creek. Like said maybe you'll be able to find some Confetrit' lead. Love finding those Gardner's and Enfield bullets. We look forward to seeing pics of your finds and saves. Go getem'.

Thank guys. I forgot to mention buttons. I could go for a button or 2. Can’t seem to hit up on any here lately. Think I’ll start swinging my machine left handed, see if that helps.

Cool finds buddy.

Very cool finds!! I am from NW Ohio and I find army buttons once in a while but im not sure they are from the civil war. Most home sites I detect are on the 1880 map.

Nice lead. Out of the thousands of bullies I have dug I have never dug a cleaners. Still looking for my first one.
