Dug a Lot of Lead Yesterday

Dug these 70 bullets yesterday. A couple of them were firsts for me. The one on the bottom left is a .69 caliber two-ringer. McKee and Mason say it's a British Rifled 1835/51 Musket. The third from the right on the bottom row is a neat little three-ring carbine. I believe it's a Merrill. The second from the right on the bottom row is a head-scratcher. McKee and Mason don't have one like it in their book. The bottom right is a carved bullet. It was a fun day hunting in a downpour.

Now that's what I call a load of bullets. Congratulations. I can only imagine how great it must be to have a chance to did in an area with such history. Must have been exciting to have that many targets being true relics. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the days when you could go out and dig bullets til your pockets were full, which unfortunately hasn't happened for me for quite some time. Looks to me like you also have a ring-tailed Sharps and Richmond Sharps in the second row from the bottom. Both are also nice. Congrats on a great day digging.
