selling and using detectors, I can't recall any one detector causing as much concern in "other" camps as the Tejon has
Could it be that the machine delivers equal or better performance than many detectors that cost up to twice as much
Lot of performance for a reasonable price

The controversy is centered on a few folks who promote it, that's all.

hand experience with a detector. As far as "who", I'll leave that up to you. So far, one can mention another detector brand here without being censored in one form or another, which is more than you can truthfully say for some forums
Maybe a positive post one way or the other from using your personal knowledge of the detector would be a step in the right direction.
Ty

Yeah man the big bad dumpo crew is "AFRAID" of the Shadow. Hence no team Shadow at the gnwhateva. Shadow ROCKS!!
Rick

Just not here on the board. In fact that goes for anyone who may want to know the real reasons there is no Team Shadow. Just reply to this post and I'll email you the info.
Rick

It was the same when the Shadow X2 came out. Monte and Ralph in particular can vouch for that. And neither the Tejon, X2 or X5 has caused as big an uproar as there was on Tnet when it was the only forum. Seems most people think because a detector performs well for them that it should do the same for everyone, everywhere. Don't work that way, and most of us know it. That's why I never get deeply involved in detector wars anymore.

regulation that states that you can't get your very own "hunt" started and put the X-5 up against all the "other" detectors and if the X-5"wins", then you got bragging rights. If it "loses" then live with it.
I asked a couple of questions, and instead of answers and opinions, got a bunch of double-talk about X-5 this and that. I didn't mention that one detector was better than another, and didn't mention the X-5 at all.
Ty

I wasn't concerned, I was curious and wanted to know for myself so I tried a Tejon out. Price has little to do with my detector choices. If a machine is exceptional, I'll find a way to justify the price based on performance. I didn't see cutting edge results here like they reportedly do in Texas. Plain and simple.... no icons needed. I did see improved depth for a Tesoro. I can see where the Tejon could be a good foundation for future improved models. Now I'll just wait and see what's next.

I would think you could do better than a post like this This is only meant to flame things up again, and is not much better than what was stated the other day.
It has been established that the Tejon is not only a real bargain for the Bucks, but is a top contender with many top of the line machines in todays market. With all your experience, why not post some merits of a machine or some positive experiences with it, rather than pot stirring rubbish like this
I believe you mentioned you are back on full time status with Western and Eastern as a columnist. I am tempted to forward this tripe of yours to Rosemary and see if she is as amused with it as you must be.
You preach Not to stir things up and do just the opposite. Share your 36+ years of detecting savvy Ty, not garbage like this. Hey Jack & James Gifford.... You got yourself another Cretin here

My point is that most folks who have posted here don't give a rat's butt about the Tejon. It's one particular tester they are concerned about.
Hopefully, you haven't seen too many negative posts from me.

T-Ricks,I would like the info also please.
Thanks, ga12th@aol.com

Very well spoken Mike ,
My opinion is that its a good detector for hunting relics but I can think of a few others that are just as good or even better.Anytime you get guys saying its hands down better than anything out there and then seasoned relic hunters try it and go eeeeeehhhh not bad but not mind boggling as it's been stated. Of course you'll get commotion and uproar and all that. Calling it the baddest thing on the block when it hasnt been proved to be is what did it. Its good no doubt but the best out there? Thats very much a matter of opinion.
