E-Trac and SunRay Pro Gold Headphone Combo Owners

I just received my E-Trac today along with a set of SunRay Pro Gold Headphone.

I had to flip the switch to mono to get them work and I also noticed that the headphone plug does not seat all the way into the jack on the detector. I can still see about 1/4" of the gold shaft. Is this normal?

I can tell that I'm going to be finding stuff I missed with my SE. I pulled a toasted penny from a spot in my yard that I have detected over and over before with my SE! I believe it's going to be GREAT!!!

I peered into the headphone socket on the E-Trac with a small flashlight and the socket appears to be very shallow so I am satisfied that the headphone plug issue is normal. The phones do work and I can hear sound out of both sides so it's not a function problem. I just didn't know if anyone who owned this combo could verify that condition for me.

Thank you Ray. I feel better now.

Duke---My wife & I both own Etracs and use Sunray Pro Golds on them.---Both of ours is the same way you describe also--so don't be concerned about it, there's no problem.---And you got the VERY best h.p.'s available for the Etrac/Explorers--they make a great "marriage" (for several reasons) IMHO.------BTW, welcome to the Etrac "gang"!!---------Del

My SunRay Pro Gold's plug all the way in against the rubber battery cover. The length of the actual plug on my phones is 1.25" from the pointed tip to the plastci elbow.
