e-trac coils?

The Pro coil is an excellent all around coil.. If you hunt in marginally heavy trash a 6x8 SEF will find you more stuff after your done with the Pro.. The 6X8 is nearly as deep as the Pro & does separate even better than the Pro. After your done with the 6x8 bring out a X-5 for final clean up.. I also have a 6" Excelerator & 4.5X 7 Excelerator but now believe the X-5 to do a better job. Last night with a newly aquired X-5, I popped 4 coins out of an small area in a few minutes where I would have bet there was nothing left after covering numerous times with the above coils.

If you think you need bigger a 10X12 SEF with give you a bit more depth & sharpen up some deep signals in certain situations but is pretty heavy.. I just got a 12X15 SEF and have spent 2 days going over previously searched areas where I thought I may have left something deep but so far haven't pulled a single deep coin. I would have a hard time recommending it to anybody .. wildherre

I agree and disagree..............I hunted Most all year with the 10 x 12 sef,and found over 200 silver with it,,,,also found 10 or so with the 6x8 sef....I liked them both and still have the 6 x 8" sef.But gave up the 10 x 12 sef to get a lighter Pro Coil again......In several tests with my two hunting partners..(Both Etrac & Pro Coil users)Every time we would get a deep deep signal say 9 " Plus.we would call the others over, and almost every time the other 2 could see my target....I run hotter gain than the other 2 so every once in a while I would see that 10" + target and they had a tough time with it....
I really don't think the 10 x 12" SEF has but one advantage over the pro coil....That advantage is ground cover. The Pro coil is 10 1/2".The 10x12" sef is 12"....You can cover more ground with the 10x12"....But I think the Pro coil could find more targets next to trash......JMO
The 5" excelerator coil or 5" sunray would be a nice addition to the Pro and 6x8" sef coils....I don't know about the 12 x15 sef..I think it would see a deep quarter or larger target.but again the weight factor vs the extra 1/2"-3/4" difference is just not worth throwing my shoulder out .To justify buying one.....
My 2 hunting buddies have got 310+ silvers [GOIO](Depending on what he found today) ,and [Tmanfromtexas]202+ silvers (depending on what he found in Texas this weekend.Tman uses the Pro exclusively.......and GOIO uses the Pro and the 6x8 sef as well......Again..Just My (and My 2 hunting Partners ) Opinions
