E-trac coils

Have you tried the standard 8" coil by Minelab

Only 7 1/4 inches round..it works like a small coil on steroids..Very deep and stable..

Nope, have not used that one. My small coil of choice is the 6" DD EXcelerator EQ 2 Pro. I've heard good things about the 8" Minelab as well as the 8X6 SEF. Have to be careful though, or I'll start collecting coils just like fishing rods.

So I guess you like the 8 " coil? I am undecided on which coil to buy, 6" eq2 , 6x8 butterfly, or the 8" minelab.

Sorry, did not mean to make your choice more difficult. I use the 6" EQ 2 pro, but there are several good small coils to choose from.

This subject has been discussed a lot and you can find a ton of information by doing a search for "small coil" in the E-Trac forum.

Here are a few that are very popular (by no means a complete list)

SunRay X5
8x6 SEF Butterfly
6" DD EXcelerator EQ 2 Pro
4.5 x 7" DD EXcelerator

My small coil of choice is the 6" DD EXcelerator EQ 2 Pro too.....It's a terrific small coil ..reaches deeper than you would think for a small coil and is dead on when pinpointing...you just can't cover vast amounts of ground quickly...it has a small footprint..i recommend it...
