E-Trac Emulator Program

First I would like to thank "MHirschmann" and "John" for replying to my PMs requesting info on the E-Trac.

MHirschmann put me onto the E-Trac Emulator Program and it is exactly what the doctor ordered. I am apprehensive about buying the E-Trac because of the possibility of it not being user friendly. However, with this program and Andy's book I can take the time to learn and understand the finer points of this MD before I make the purchase.

I was wondering how may E-Trac owners have used this program and what you think of it ? Also, any tips on it's use would be appreciated. Thanks

its a darn accurate program and it really is just like the real thing. however....numbers and sounds are no so "cut and dry" out in the field. it is a bit misleading because there will be 100 times as much variability in the field. variability in numbers, sounds, iron falsing, etc..... for very shallow coins, like 2" or so (just throwing a number out there), id say the program is 100% accurate. but for deeper coins, it wont be so simple.

i am in the whatever % of people who dont think its simple right out of the box. (i know a lot of people do, and i respect that.) but i am addicted to my etrac! i love it. dont think of it in terms of friendly or not. i think of it in terms of learning a new language. it took me some time. its just telling you what its "sensing". people here will help out. you will sense a lot of the same themes over and over, especially if you do yourself a favor and read through as many posts here as you can. it will make sense eventually! go back through the 240 pages of threads here and you will learn a ton. all kinds of discussions, observations, thoughts, etc. from the past couple years.
