E-Trac exchange software.

I recently purchased an E-Trac from a forum member and I am having trouble understanding how the Exchange software works. I have downloaded Bill's Park Pattern file and Mode file, but when I try to move the files to the exchange software, I can't seem to get them moved into the software. Do I have to be connected to the E-Trac and upload them directly to it and then download back to the exchange software. I have learned how to edit and create a discrimination pattern and really feel good about that. I did not, however receive a USB cable when I received the detector and this is as far as I know how to go with the Exchange software. Thanks in advance!

I don't have my E Trac yet, but I have started looking at the softwares out there and I like the ETrac Manager much better than the Xchange program. You can download the ETrac Manager here: http://etracman.ic.cz/ . It even has a built in pattern editor for editing your patterns right on the computer. Also if you have not gotten it yet, the E Trac Emulator is great!

But to answer your question, I think you DO have to have the MD connected to the PC to have full functionality of the Xchange program... If you contact ML Cust Svc, they can hook you up with a cable I am sure (if it is a PROPRIETARY cable).
