E-Trac Experiment Question

Bell-Two

Active member
Has anyone taken two different E-Tracs and set them up EXACTLY the same I mean by using the same pattern, exact same sensitivity readings, same tones settings. same expert settings etc and tried them out on a buried coin? I am curious if individual E-Tracs set up exactly the same would give variance in FE-CO numbers etc.

I sure haven't Tony. I will say this...go ahead and send me yours this season and I'll give it a good try. Better yet, take a long drive West, stop in very central Nebraska and we can find out together. Would be an intesting comparison, as I have hear of other machines that are the same make and model and one will run "hotter" than the other.

no Bell, but firstly its coil, secondary control panel. the same coils usually a bit different. if you dont like your pro coil, try another pro. I did so many test with my coils that I can say, make air or ground test with few or dozen the same coils and you will see. good luck Stasys

very interesting idea ok if one of you pops over the pond to uk with your etrac we can try it on a roman site and we will note the results if we arent too busy digging targets lol

I may take you up on that Neb, ...uh coming out to see you that is! As long as I can bring the family along!

......maybe you can also go swimming in the ce-ment pond!!!!!

Gaz.

Swing speed, location of target (i.e. you never swing exactly the same over something) are other variables. The important thing is... do both detectors detect the object and give you a "dig" signal. It doesn't matter much to me if your E-Trac says the target is a 12-41 at 7" and mine is a bouncy 12-40/42 at 6"... we both know it's a wheatie and all we need to do is dig. There will be variations I'm sure, but there are probably specs that the machines and coils both need to meet, so the variation should be slight. As machines and coils age and are exposed to abuses, then things could naturally fall out of spec.

My E trac is so hot that if you touch it it will burn your house down. don't mess with my E trac its a FIRE HAZARD! :crylol:

just couldn't resist.
