The differences in types of detecting and sites will produce different results and preferences for different hunters. The best thing is to own both and see which you use the most and keep the other for a backup. They are similar enough to allow one to switch without much adjustment and different enough to add increased versatility.

Wireless audio, Target Trace, GPS, color screen, More stable ID at depth, able to acess 4 descrim patters by pressing 2 buttons, waterproof,

Sprchng-----As usual---good (excellent) advice you are giving here!------Ever since the debut of the CTX, I have owned/used both detectors (CTX & Etrac).-----They are somewhat alike but they are somewhat different.:)----Each has a couple of features that I favor/prefer over the other and I do feel they "compliment" each other.-----I don't expect everybody to agree with me but I have many, many hrs. behind each one & neither one of them is going anywhere-------Love 'em both!.----------Del
