E-trac wigging out

My E-trac is going nuts. It will work fine for five or six minutes, and then just go berserk. At first I thought it might be the new 6x8 I put on it, so I tried another coil, same thing. After a couple of minutes of constant noise while the courser jumps all over the screen it will settle down and work fine for another four or five minutes.

Happens with multiple coils, tried reset, tried master reset. Tried a different battery pack, nothing seems to help. Any idea how much minelab charges to fix them?

Make sure that you did not hit manual sensitivity by accident. I have done that a couple of times and the manual was on a high setting, just a thought.

I tried manual, auto, quick mask, did a soft reset, master reset, nothing helped.

It has done something like this since I got it, when the battery indicator dropped a notch. I would just switch batteries and it would be fine. Figured it was like a change battery indicator. But now the battery doesn't matter, does it with both rechargeable packs and the the AA pack.

I figured for the price, the quality should be pretty good, but I keep seeing posts about them having problems.

It's was made in Ireland, anyone know if the Malaysian ones are more reliable?
