E600 Update

Downloaded the update file at a wi fi coffee shop and off-line at home installed the update with no problems. The lower back light is welcome. Other changes may have included revising the way different modes weight the Multi-IQ responses. Maybe some of the modifications that you read about or see in videos will no longer work as well. It will be interesting to find out in the field. I did a full reset before updating and will use the new defaults for a while.

Hi Dan, did you see this for your self? Or do you have a source. This would be very interesting since Minelab just said "various other things" kind of. my words.

I'm going to a beach this weekend and will try to let you know what happens.

All the best

I'm just guessing that a new version would include more than another backlight option and F2. I have no inside information.

There was a hint from somebody "in the know" on another forum who said that everyone should put their IB in FE2 at "4" and leave it there forever. Said there was much more going on but couldnt comment, yet. I believe him.

From the little testing I have done anything below FE2-4 is useless. FE2-6 does pretty good but it still sounds a little like an iffy signal.
More test will be needed to see if the higher IB of 6 will effect depth or separation. My initial test at 6 showed almost no different in depth compared to IB of 2.
