Well went out for a hunt this morn. screen went blank, put in new batteries no good did not come back on going to send it in for repair. i know they will take good care of her.

Were you still able to hear the machine passing over targets?

I had problems with mine doing that but they fixed it.

Same with my Silver Eagle. The screen is skewed but the detector still works. 16 year run. I wonder if the detectors built today will last this long?
 
The display might be bad, but first I would open up the display pod and re seat the display ribbon. If I remember right, they were silver plated and oxidize with time.
