Elephants & Palm trees

I found this at an old home site I believe to be at least early 1900s. It has elephants and palm trees stamped on it. It's non-ferrous. Reminds me of an old pill case. Any ideas?
 
Marinello Debutante case made prior to 1926, that would be the last year it was made. This is how it would've looked over 90 years ago....

This elephant/palm tree design was later used in the 1960's Pressed Powder Compact produced by Faberge in Paris and New York.
Here is one that is triangle shaped made in the 60's...
