Is turning down the sensitivity the only option when your in a location that you’re getting a lot of chatter and you are looking for deeper coins. Thanks, Tom

Tom, if using a Manticore or 900 you have the option of the long noise cancel. Single frequency is what I did when I used the 800. Also Field 2 will run much more stable than Park 1. Small coil is good also. With the 800 I used the 6in. , had no problem hitting 9-10 inch dimes in fair ground, likewise with the 9in. on the Manticore Not sure how deep you want to dig. Good luck.

I posted this in another thread last fall for the D2, this is a copy....

Run the frequency scan as I'm sure you already know, but you can also mitigate the noise by notching out 98-99. That will get rid of about 40-50% of the irritating chatter. You could drop down to 97-99 and reduce it even more, but you will be in dangerous territory for notching large silver.
IMO, it's worth the risk when you want to hunt an area with EMI. However, know that notching only reduces the noise, not the debilitating effects EMI may have on the detector's performance.

Hi, Just a couple things, where R you located when U get all that chatter? If around your home with all the WIFI signals and other EMI interference, you will get a lot of chatter. If your detecting outside the EMI interference, you should have no problems. Different neighborhoods will have different types of EMI, some not too bad and some just terrible. The Deus is a very sensitive detector. Making some adjustments to noice cancellation and sensitivity will help but not get rid of the chatter in those areas.
