Bought a plane ticket to England
for March...and I'm so looking forward to metal detecting there again
I was there last year and discovered an old park that I'm very confident had not been metal detected because of all the stuff I dug up including a gold ring, WW2 hat badge and lots of old coins. It has also been used for a fairground site for many decades so who knows what's in the ground!!
I was rained out most of the days I was there the last time last year (not surprising for England) and the ground was saturated so I hope for drier weather more conducive for M.D-ing.
The only downside to metal detecting in England is the antiquated laws of the land declaring that your finds may be 'treasure trove' and you have to go to an 'inquest' to sort all that stuff out! bah humbug!!!

The best news is my brother (who lives in England) has a friend who is a sheep herder taking care of property that was the site of a Roman encampment. As far as the caretaker of the property knows, there hasn't been any metal detectorists set foot, or could not get permission? on that property
We have permission to metal detect the acreage....sweet!!!
wish me luck and I'll post my finds when I dig them up and I'll be doing the gold dance again
