Every year the National Park Service has a number of days/holidays where entrance into the National Parks is free. From Yosemite to the Great Smokey Mountains. The parks will have a higher attendance than normal for this time of year no doubt, but if you want to spend a small part of the weekend exploring a national park with your camera next weekend is the perfect time to do so.

I am very tempted to go up to Yosemite next weekend. :)

HH and GL everyone.:)

Plan on a long slow bumper to bumper drive...

Seems a lot of folks know aout the free entry day...

I usually stay in the backcountry. In Yosemite, 95% of the people who visit never leave the valley other than to come and leave the park. Backcountry areas can be pretty bare no matter the time of year, just depends on how easy it is to get to.

Kelley, unfortunately I won't be up to go up there. My job has me pinned down all weekend. Darnit.
