Equinox factory reset

Ted S

Well-known member
I have been in a serious slump this spring. Only a handful of coins and only 3 silvers. Two mercs and a Barber dime. Somehow I managed to turn on the vibrating handle but continued to hunt these last few outings. The machine also seemed a bit unstable, too. I did a factory reset last night and will try to get a few hunts in. I rarely change from Park 1 unless it is to Field 2 due to high emi in the area I am hunting. Sometimes I will slow the recovery speed down to 3 instead of 4 and I always run high sensitivity when I can! Thoughts please? Ted HH!

Ted, is this with the 900?
I’m still running the 800, and like you, I seldom change settings.
Things are slow around here too… I have found 4 silver coins, and clad is diminishing in my sites where they usually replenish from year to year.
Not sure what you are asking… is the detector unstable when in vibrate mode, or just in general lately?

Ted, I remember on some hunts the 900 was unstable and it seemed like it would have trouble locking on to a signal. Not sure if you subscribe to the theory of silent EMI but that is what I blamed it on. Lowering the sensitivity to 20 or so usually helped. Never really tried the long noise cancel as I was using the Legend when Minelab came out with the update. You might want to try that also. As far as vibration goes, its the only machine out there that you can set vibration to certain bin. I would set it to the nickel and high tone region. I really enjoyed having that little extra alert when hitting on a desired signal. Good luck.
