I went out once about 3 weeks ago...then on vacation...then yesterday.... I don't really look at everything carefully till I get it home and clean it up....sometimes a week later.

I was able to find a diverse collection of things...about 20 pennies(of course)and 20 clad. 2 silver quarters and one dime & 2 wheat's. A Maltese coin...2 tokens....and some various jewelry.....and then hit the chain....it had been there for several years. My best gold chain find yet. Etrac is quite the machine!

Thanks! They are the hardest thing to find.....go to fast and you will miss it for sure. It was just a quick blip and caught my attention.

I can promise you if I had found that chain, I would have drove straight home, VERY fast and cleaned it up, right then and there!!!!!! How could u just leave gold lay and not even bother to clean it? Do you find a lot of gold????

The chain was found last night.....I did the same as you would as far as checking it out fairly quicky but I could see what it truly was before getting it home. I was talking about other things like clad coins and such....usually thats all they are is clad...with no unusually good suprises. Sometimes the coins set soaking in water for a week or two before I get to cleaning them a bit and checking them out.


I have found a fair amount of gold...more than some and not as much as others.....not as much as I would like too... of course! I would never have thought I would have found all the things I have. Here a pic of most of my golden finds.

Thanks....I assume that you mean some kind of pendant or medallion or something like that....I went over the area again but this seems to be all there was.
