Etrac in Black Sand Problems

A friend and I are having depth issues and poor readings on coin size targets in black sand. We seem to only be getting about 4" or less somethings. The poor readings are fluctuating and unexpected target ID numbers and erratic audio. We've tried auto and manual sensitivity settings. Are there settings, or a good method of dealing with this on the ETRAC? Even though we are not getting good depth we are still finding targets. All the targets are shallow and we know there is older good stuff below.

Black sand is one of the hardest things for any metal detector to punch through. I would use auto. To much sensitivity will get you the high beams in fog effect.

Black sand isn't mineralization it's IRON. If you are getting any depth in black sand, you are doing very well. It takes a PI to do well in BS, and sometimes it takes specific models of PI based on exactly what type of BS you have.
