So, to create a new "User Mode", does one have to load an existing mode, edit it and then save it as a new User Mode? Or am I missing something and there is a way to create one from scratch? New to the Etrac so I'm a bit confused between the Discrimination Patterns and User Modes.

Modes are your different settings like Trash High, Ground Difficult, volume Gain 29, fast on, deep off etc. It saves those settings and you can then use different discrimination patterns with the different settings in the different modes.
