Etrac settings for gold prospecting

I live in south eastern Arizona and am looking for help setting my new etrac up for gold prospecting...

The E-Trac is renowned and better suited for silver coins and jewelry, and you'll be hard pressed to find a better machine for this purpose . However, "Gold Prospecting" is not what this detector was designed for/or intended to perform. If gold nuggets are your targets, I would invest in a PI ( pulse induction) machine design specifically for gold prospecting. These type machines excel for that purpose and have the much-needed increase in ground depth for finding nuggets ! Best of Luck !

I agree with roadapple, the eTrac struggles with small gold. Pound nuggets? Not so much!

You might consider getting yourself a gold-dedicated detector.

There is a joey coil made for this purpose. I have not tested my etrac on gold yet except for the rings I am finding. I can not believe the etrac is not able to sniff out nuggets.

Well it will still find nuggets but not the very small ones:clsoedeyes:
