Has anyone used the Sun Ray Stealth X-8, Minelabs 8" FBS or the SEF 8 x 6 butterfly coils on there Etrac. If you have what one do you prefer and why? Does anyone have any comparisons on theses coils? I would like to purchase one of the three mentioned.
I have the 8X6 SEF but haven't hunted with it yet because I'm still getting used to the 11" Pro. There are several threads on this forum and the Explorer forum that discuss the differences and preferences that individuals have for the smaller coils. You might want to do a Search using the different coil names to see what you get--be prepared for alot of search results as I've seen this subject talked about on several occasions.
I really like my SEF 8x6, but to be honest, I wish it was a little smaller for the super duper trashy spots (which I don't hunt nearly as often). I find that I rarely use it as the Pro coil is just that good in moderate trash. You might consider something a little smaller if you're doing well in trash with the Pro coil.
