Just have taken the time to share these finds taken from the ground at the 137 year old forest preserve park here in central IL. The etrac didnt seem to be affected by very dry ,hot ,conditions here. This is a truly remarkable machine! Im glad it finally cooled off and the ground is damp again.Hope you folks enjoy these pics.

Nice finds. Found a barber quarter not to long ago, 1902. Given to my by a gopher, who pushed it up when making his home. It was two inches down in the soft dirt.

Etrac is a great detector. How far down where these?

These coins and relics averaged 4-8 inches . A few were around 9 inches. There is a fairly high level of trash in this old park and a lot of attention is required to find these. Oh yeah, I dig my share of nails too! Etrac is set at 4 ferrous ,32 conductive. I hear everything in the ground constantly. Thanks for the reply Smack!

Very nice finds! Thanks for the great pictures.

FANTASTIC

What a nice selection of coins and items

Any chance you can identify the items that are not Indians, Mercury's, Rosey"s, Seated, Barber's and Washington's

I especially am interest in the square coin, Thanks

Very nice finds, Congrats and thanks for the Pictures.

Excellent finds ! :clapping:

The square state of IL. tax token was used from 1935-1941 and is made of aluminum,I believe. It was a 1-1/2 cent sales tax imposed upon retailers in almost every occupation, but retailers could pass the tax onto consumers for retail purchases made. I hope this will help you, banditicey. Thanks for the post!
