He has a discussion on coin spills and detector reactions on the Minelab forum. I just conducted my own test and it is true nickels can hide silver coins and posted my results there. Well worth the read.

I'm interested because last year I found an old nickel and then a mercury dime nearby with my F19. I had hunted that site out with my other machines as well. Both coins came as a surprise but I should have found that mercury dime easily or so I thought.
