New member
Has anyone got an Excaliber with Mr. Goldmaster headphones and if so what is your feedback? Have your finds increased?

i can't tell u now but soon i will be getting a pair..i know what they sound like cause mr.goldmaster let me hear the difference .. and i liked it the tones are much clearer CJC recommends them in his new excal book

i did the female akelite connector mod just waiting for the headphones

the headphone will not point u to the gold but u can really hear the difference between tones than the stock headphones i have now (yellow fitted into a pair of peltors 105's)

I have about 6+ months use on one of my Excal ll with the Goldmaster headphones and I LOVE them. They are loud and I can hear EVERYTHING except the outside world when wearing them. I have 3 Excals and as the finds come in I'm going to get a set on the other two.

Note: the pair Mr Goldmaster made for me are in the Peltor 104 case and have the Ikelite connector as I had an Ikelite connector on one of my Excals. The next ones will be hard wired unless the proposed Excal end caps get made by OldBeechnut

Biglry..dropped off the extra endcap to greg last saturday, he will be getting a quote on making 35 endcaps out of UHMW this week. 10 solid, 20 with two holes setup for the Heyco 3237 connectors, which (24) came in last week...and 5 Ilelite ready..these are setup for the female ikelite plugs, you will need the female ikelite connector #4105..I still have to call and get a price on these.

Thanks for the update.

Thanks, I bought a pair based upon the recommendation CJC made in his book. I was just curious as to other's experience with them. I can't wait to take them out in South Beach, Miami at the end of January.

The word is from Mr. Goldmaster is that you won't need a treasure amp with his phones. I'm going to get a pair to see! I've been told that he will be making them within the next few weeks.

All ready been compared, to the Treasure Amp,...........VB max let one of his friends use his excal this summer.GoldMasters (101's) . I swept in and asked dave to check a target with his excal...he could not hear it....Going upto the Jersey Shore to hookup with 3 Pro PI hunters to see if the Amped Excal, with a WOT can hang with the PI's. (Dual Field/Infinium/Sand Shark/Sovereign/stock Excalibur II/CZ20) Jan..13/14/15...will shoot video...anyone have some golddmasters on there excalibur is more then welcome, should be the 14th, Saturday, Ocean City Jersey....Should be a learning experence for settings/tips on all of these machine.......Therover/DualFieldBandit/Neil/Synthnut/Local SS dealer/Xxxxxx and me........these are some of the best with there machines, and one must remember that this is just the Jersey Shores / 20 feet in the water / 20 miles down the road results can differ

Just a note I should have put with the post above...You can not go wrong with the "GoldMaster" Head phones. if you have a excalibur or excalibur II........there is not a better set of retail head phones out there for this machine..Hands Down...

Ive not done research on the head phones but know the head phones on my Xcal is hard wired. Isnt it simpler to just hard wire them and the head phones rather than mess with the pod? Is there a reason you use all the connectors? Are the headphones as water proof as the ones that come with the Xcal? OBN have you done a video on how to do this mod along with parts required and price?

Dew, I just had a guy drop off his excal II for this mod Peltors/3M "105"..got a new video cam, got the batteries charged..couple days off...I'll get back to you in a couple days...Sunday..

The GoldMasters are 100% waterproof...the big difference and why they work well is the transducer is a Piezo 50mm Buzzer, compared to the stock 35mm, the bigger more audio/louder. If you have alot of beach noise, the ear muffs will kill that, the bigger piezo's will pull the faints up...(really helps specially if your a PP hunter}

My Peltors 105's on my excal, I run Piezo Buzzers... PUI Audio, Inc. Series Projects Unlimited

Left Earcup..50mm {1.2kHz...3.5K Ohm} and a 34mm.{3.2kHz...150 Ohm} right earcup, alone they are not waterproof so they have to be sealed in with silicon.......
One will come in alone..mix audio with the other then it will fade and the other will carry on (almost like a passing audio signal, in one ear..out the other)..this way you get the full spectrum of the target signal, more info...all still needs more time to determine if this is the best, I'm looking for a Bigger Buzzer then the 50mm..have not found one yet.......Just found a 60-mm, the story continues..

OBN so are u saying that u know how to do the mod ur self??

No , my headset is similar.. I did see what MGM's looked like from the outside and reconized the transducer when I seen Max's in Oc MD, but I have not taken a set apart, and will not..that is his secret and his work, he spent time and research on getting one of the best sets of headphones out there..I'm just going on what I have discovered to work for me and still looking for more. Just ordered 4 larger Piezo Transducers/Buzzers, a set of 60mm and 2 XXmm ..for testing...both sets from china..lets see if they come. I've got several modes I have done to the excal, still learning..some work Great, some OK, and others I need to refine...Once most are as good as it gets I will share all...figure by then I'll be retired, over the mod thing and be out there hunting all the time.

OBN so the Peltors are or are NOT water proof? Is the only difference the sealing process or the speakers themselves?

Dew

Sounds interesting. I was just about to order a pair of gray ghost headphones. Can someone tell me who sells the Goldmasters? Is it an individual or a business? I will be ordering tuesday, any info would be great.

Thanks, Mike

Dew the peltors are water proof. What makes all WP is the sealing.......

n/t

I use Mr Goldmaster headphones on my excals won't use anything else, They keep the noise out! Don Tyler Merrimack,NH

Just got a pair of Goldmasters, and I was thinking of sealing the holes where the small wire and coiled cable comes through. But reading these posts it sounds like they're waretproof. I didn't realize they are waterproof. If that's the case, then I guess I don't have to seal the holes. Is this correct?
Thanks, Marc
