Excalibur in the Water

Was fortunate to get out in the water for a few hours. Initially started on the slope with the AQ and the 12" coil. Couldn't get it to settle down (compared to the 8" coil) so I hopped in the water with the Excal. All targets found waist to chest deep. One tungsten ring and a few "gorgeous" hoop earrings (lol); however, my favorite find is the hook and leader. Glad to know no one is able find this attached to their foot.

Nice! BTW, the value of Tungsten has been rising, as it's classified as a strategic metal resource for National Defense. Great that you were able to get that hook out as well. Many years ago, I found these in the dry, just a few inches down with the points standing straight up. I pity anyone walking around in bare feet who may have stepped on these, would have required a trip to the ER to get a tetanus shot.

BTW, I've kept these in my pouch ever since. When someone comes up and asks me what I found, I'll pull these out to show them. I get a lot of gasps and horrified looks from them, then they thank me for removing them from the beach. I also show them to lifeguards to generate some good PR for the hobby. One of the lifeguards thanked me and said that I saved him from having to deal with a serious medical emergency. About an hour later, he waved me over to tell me that a woman had reported losing her wedding ring in the water. He pointed to where she reported losing the ring. I searched but didn't find, but still, it was cool of the lifeguard to point out where possible cheddar was lost.

Guess I shouldn't have thrown out all those rings!

Kidding. I have been putting everything in a pouch and will probably do an end of the year picture or two. Could not believe the lack of waves over the last few days. I may try and sneak out, tomorrow.
