Explain: Greek Series

Bobby Moyers

New member
I just purchased an Omega 8000 from a forum member and am noticing some talk about "Greek Series" on this forum. Can somebody explain that to me. I don't even know what I bought. Thanks!

Man I feel stupid! The Greek alphabet, I know all the letters, just never thought about it that way. Thanks and don't tell anybody I asked this question.

Hey Bobby---You oughta see some of the questions I've asked before!!!!-----We're all friends here & that's the best way to find out detector related things----ask our other dirt fishin friends.---------Del

Hi Del,

Thanks for your kind words! Appreciate you buddy! A lot of good people here on Findmal!

I just never drew a correlation between the letters of the Greek alphabet and some of the Teknetics detectors.

I purchased a detector with faster recovery to allow me to be more competitive when my buddy and I hunt yards together. My buddy hunts with an F75 and covers a lot more ground than I do with my Exp Se. When we hunt a yard together he pulls up more targets because he covers more ground. I like the ergonomics of First Texas detectors and I believe this Omega is what I'm looking for. I will keep the Exp SE for going after the deep ones! Thanks!

LOL...what a hilarious answer.....Bobby......we promise not to tell everyone. But honestly, when I first heard the term 'greek series' in regards to Teknetics......I was.....what the heck is greek series detector? Does it come with a cool helmet and a javelin? And yes, I also know the Greek alphabet and am fairly proficent in Latin. I own a Omega too. Welcome aboard.

Thanks TerraDigger, Appreciate your humor! The older I get the more I have to laugh at myself. I'm not Old and Feeble yet, but getting there! HH!

You may also see them referred to as the "frat brothers" series.

Good (and correct) point Jim!-----Which begs the question----Greek series bros----Frat bros----Fraternity bros!!----Boy this is getting good!!! ;)---- I think we need DJ or Monte to step in here on this!-----------Del quote=Jimbog]

You guys are too witty for me. I believe I'll buy an off brand detector and maybe I can fit in! Just kidding, HAHA! Thanks Guys

Hey Bobby.....Welcome aboard! I'm new here too...These guys are great and eager to help others with their wealth of knowledge.....There are no stupid questions or I would have already asked them ---I have a habit of re-iterating the obvious.. There's an old Chinese proverb that goes......."One who thinketh by the INCH, and talketh by the MILE, outta be kicketh by the FOOT". My wife tells me that I fit the bill :lmfao:

Too late now Bobby---you're stuck with us!!!-----And you fit in JUST FINE!

Now Bobby, you just stick with us and keep asking away. Without guys like you coming along and asking a question here and there, this forum would get pretty boring for us "know it all's." Welcome aboard. HH jim tn
