Hey everyone,

Is it okay to use rechargeable Nimh batteries in the alkaline pack or should I buy the rechargeable pack. I just don't want to mess up my detector. Thanks in advance. This detector sure eats the batteries can't run it without rechargeables efficiently.

I use them in place of the alkaline pack, when not using the sealed minelab pack, which is a rechargeable pack anyway as far as I'm concerned.

NiMH batteries are fine to use, just keep in mind that they need their own charger for maximum charge and life. Alkaline chargers for NiMH don't cut it.

If your gonna go that route, Sunray makes/made a pod that allowed you to put your rechargeables in the AA pack, then recharge the entire pack in the pod. It was cheap too, 10 or 15bucks. check with a sunray dealer for one, makes it easier than pulling the batteries out to recharge each time.
